Road Update
The road is in good shape after a dry summer. Hopefully as the frost sets in for the winter the road maintains its condition which will make next spring less of a bumpy ride.
Jack arranged for the trimming and gravel to create the pullover just inside the fence at Hwy 7 - it has certainly provided a safe spot to allow for folks coming down the hill to get by and for anyone turning off 7 to enter safely. We'll keep the sumacs under control to also help with sightlines.
Jack, Anil and Rob have spent hours limbing / trimming / cutting back encroaching trees along the entire length of the road. This has helped side mirrors from getting whacked, opened up visibility, and hopefully eliminated most of the danger from trees / branches coming down across the road - not everyone travels with a chainsaw. That trimming work was a couple of years overdue, and we'll attempt to stay on top of it in future.
One last note is that Jack invested in a sickle bar mower for his tractor and was able to cut the road shoulder this year. We all appreciate Jack's commitment to keeping our road in great repair.
AGM
Everyone should have received the minutes from the 2022 AGM. If you haven't please let the President know and we can sent them along. The 2023 AGM will be on Sunday May 21 at noon. Location info will be provided closer to the date - hopefully the weather is nicer next year.
Hunting Season / Winter is Coming
Please be safe when you're outside during hunting season, mostly if you're walking along the road - blaze orange is your friend.
As winter approaches please travel slowly on the road, keep an eye out for other Yarrow Laners, and remember that 4-wheel drive can get you 50' farther than you should have gone in the first place.
Have a great fall season and we'll post an update closer to the holidays. Stay safe everyone -
